Remove the 'Apply Effect' button. The user should be able to apply effects just by selecting the appropriate effect, rather than have to do both.

On your web site you've said you created the SE version so as to simplify the overall process yet you add extra buttons that are not necessary. I was trying to mix effects earlier and wasn't able to because I'd forgotten to click on the apply effect button. Thank you.
